For my 30th birthday, my wife bought me a beautiful handmade crokinole board. It looks great on the wall and is a ton of fun to play.
Because the guy making these has a bit of a queue, it didn’t arrive until several months after my birthday. In the meantime, I looked at pictures of other peoples’ crokinole boards. Most are plain wood, but some have paintings on the surface with varying levels of garishness. Leaving aside the debate regarding the asthetic merit putting a sports logo or a painting of scantily clad forest pixie on a crokinole board, I felt a lot of these designs also completely lacked imagination. So I started doodling up some of my own silly designs…
This is one I kinda wanna build: a crokinole board that’s made from an infinity mirror.
Merging two Canadian pastimes
Crokinole board with a fluid acrylic design on top. This is another that’s less silly and maybe worth actually doing.
Tired of your opponents scoring 20s? This design replaces the 20-hole with a peg.
A painting of an elf warrior princess on your crokinole board just isn’t nerdy enough. Really drill down on your nerdiness with a Sarlacc Pit crokinole board
Things are going gravity well enough.
“I’m on TV!”
Purists eschew octagonal frames on crokinole boards, but what about octagonal playing surfaces?
